VESTIBULAR NEURO-REHABILITATION APPLICATIONS FOR THE SPINE – SCOLIOSIS, POSTURE AND PAIN
Join us in Barcelona! This 2-part course includes 3.5hr pre-event E-learning as well as a 2-day live event. Explore the neurological influence and cause of spinal conditions including poor posture and scoliosis.
Event Dates: Saturday 16th - Sunday 17th September 2023
Discover The New Neurology Paradigm In Spinal Health:
Elevate Your Scoliosis Management Skills
This 2-day live course plus 3.5hr e-learning material has been meticulously crafted to explore the neurological influence and causation of spinal conditions including poor posture and scoliosis. Our goal is to equip practitioners with a profound understanding of the neurophysiology and evidence linking poor brain function with spinal conditions.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Carlo Rinaudo, a renowned chiropractor, researcher, and educator, and Dr. Jordi Gutierrez, a Spanish registered chiropractor and physiotherapist, participants will delve into the latest evidence-based clinical neuroscience. This course will empower you with advanced techniques and protocols for managing idiopathic scoliosis and poor posture, considering spine, TMJ, eye movements, vestibular, sensorimotor integration, and advanced neuromodulation therapies.
Revolutionise Your Practice with Brain-Based Techniques
for Scoliosis and Posture
The course encompasses a rich and diverse curriculum, from understanding spinal control neurophysiology and scoliosis neurophysiology to mastering proprioception and sensory discrimination. Explore the role of primitive reflexes in spinal control, dive deep into the influence of oculomotor function, and learn about innovative therapies including galvanic stimulation and vibration.
Dedicated to revolutionizing the approach to spine health, this course will redefine your understanding of the complex interplay between the brain and spinal conditions. Join us and learn how to elevate your patient outcomes with brain-based therapies.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Over the last 10 years, research has shown both an association and causation of various sensorimotor integration dysfunction in the development of scoliosis and poor posture. These include proprioception, vestibular, oculomotor, primitive reflexes and cortical regions as been involved.
In this 2-part course with a 3.5hr online module and 2-day live course, we set out the neurophysiology and evidence linking poor brain function with spinal conditions. We explore the assessment and treatment of spinal conditions via vestibular neuro-rehabilitation approach, using low-tech and easy to implement tools and procedures.
This seminar is loaded with clinical gems and useful applications to better evaluate and offer brain-based therapies to improve patient outcomes.
Explore 3.5hrs of E-learning content prior to attending the event, and then join us in Barcelona for the 2-day live intensive course!
AIMS & LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing the course, you will be able to:
- Appreciate that scoliosis can be considered a neuro-musculoskeletal condition
- Understand the brains/nervous systems influence on scoliosis and posture, specifically from the vestibular system and other spinal control centres
- Learn the latest evidence-based clinical neuroscience that is emerging in the causes and management for idiopathic scoliosis
- How to perform a multi-modal, brain-based assessment, including proprioceptive, vestibular, cerebellar, and cortical tests
- Consider how primitive and postural reflexes influence early neuro- musculoskeletal development
- Learn advanced techniques and protocols for managing idiopathic scoliosis and poor posture that consider spine, TMJ, eye movements, vestibular, sensorimotor integration, and advanced neuromodulation therapies
- Add these neuro-rehabilitation therapies to existing scoliosis techniques, This course is suitable for any manual therapy practitioner, with little or no training in clinical (functional) neurology
